Friends the year 2011 is soon ending God willing, We are soon going to year 2012.This surely this year has been hard on other areas but has also been our favorite year since it is the that the Nyanza regiaon chose our school for the participation for the music festival. We receive about 100 schools in Nyanza region . Our school was rated to be one of the best school and we thank God for that.
Again pupils despite of their condition they managed to be in third passion in our divisional exam which has 56 schools. We were number two, three and six in the music festival and we thank God. This year we had put in place anew building for classes and offices which is not finished yet and we pray for the Lord to continue proving for more funds. we also acquired the passion of land where we hope to build a dormitory for girls.
We are happy to inform you about the two big water tanks which was installed this year and we have enough water for all our kids to use. Thank you for all the prevision of food.
As we start this coming New Year we are praying for the new uniforms and shoes for the kids. We pray for the funds and we ask God to do this sooner so that we can start measuring them and making them earlier. Please pray with us about all these needs.
Next year our kids are going to sit for the 8th grander exam which will test them to go to the high school. New Year will have a lot of innovation and we still beg for more favor from the Lord. Brothers and sisters it is good to know that we have friends who are praying dearly for us. We love you and pray for you too. May God keep all of you and bless you. Send our love to all our donors tell them that we appreciated a lot of the strength they have to help us.

9/18/2011 - Sad news about a beloved teacher.
Dear friends,
We thank God since he has been on our side dispite of the difficulties we have undergone through the past three months in kenya. There was a time people died of hunger and then yestaday over 130 people were burnt to death in Nairobi. But the most sad news for us is the death of one of our best teacher Rose who died on friday at 9.00pm. We have been shocked and our orphans are very much shocked than anybody else. This teacher was excellent and has done a good job. Rose was married and has left a baby Brenda. She went to deliver her second born and the baby died in the womb resulted to both of them dying . Please pray with us, we are very much saddned with this death. The funeral will be on the 24th. We need to travel about 200km for the burrial where she was married. Please uplift us in prayer. We need about $2000 for the funeral arrrangement. We are asking God to provide this before the 23third. We are going to hold a prayer meeting on friday this week and we are inviting people, friends and children to join us.Please join this day for this special prayer.
We love you.

8/3/2011 - Money sent for collecting rain water, in addition to regular support for food and supplies
Benard called and said that the well they have does not produce enough water and the nearby pond does not have enough water in it for everyone in the area who tries to use it. They are really in need of an additional water source at each of the 2 locations, Ahero and Wachara. God's Little Ones has sent the money for 1 location - $2,160 which will include 3 storage containers for rain water, seating them in cement and putting iron bars around to prevent theft, and also money for transportation.

12/20/2010 - God's Little Ones Newsletter
Another year is ending and in October we had a visit in Columbia, SC from Pastor Benard. Someone donated a plane ticket to him and we were so blessed to hear about his ministry in person. There has been great progress, most notably the new kitchen and dining hall. The government was going to force him to close without proper facilities. The picture of the ‘new’ kitchen is below and that will remind you of how we are so richly blessed in the US. The stove is wood burning and primitive by our standards, still the Kenyans call it ‘modern’.
At this time Pastor Benard’s ministry is providing for 410 orphans. The orphan school in Ahero has 282, and another one in Wachara has 130. The Ahero School needs 2 more classrooms for 7th and 8th grade. The Wachara School is still meeting in a church and needs classrooms. As you may already know, these children stay with a family in the village who have agreed to let them sleep there, and then the children come to the school each day for all their meals. Pastor Benard has stated that at this time the Ahero village has absorbed as many of the children as it can and there is no other place for more children to stay. Therefore one of the next steps, if he is to be able to rescue more children, is a dormitory for sleeping for 80 children. In addition to that issue, many of the children who come to the school now, walk very long distances every day to get there, and it is really too far for them to keep doing that. The land he needs to build the dormitory on, is next door and is for sale for $4,000. The money has been raised to pay for the land.
As if all that was not enough, there is now a danger in the village to the children who walk to and from the school. Apparently there have been some rapes. At this time the teachers walk the children to their guardian homes as best they can, to insure safety. The greatest need is for a school bus to insure these sweet angels are safe. The cost for that is $20,000. Although these needs seem huge and perhaps overwhelming, as we know, we serve a great God. There is no problem too big for Him and in that we take comfort.
Thank you for your faithful contributions. You are making a difference. As always, God’s Little Ones sends 100% of the money we receive to the orphans. We are staffed by volunteers and the expenses of the organization are paid for by the board members out of their own money. In addition, God’s Little Ones plans to send extra money this year for Christmas, as we do every year.
The picture on the left is of the new ‘ovens’ in the kitchen.
We will keep our website updated as we receive more information throughout the coming year so be sure to go to GodsLittleOnes.org and click on Latest News. May God bless you for helping us take care of His little ones.
9/8/2010 - Latest Needs and Request For Prayer
There are several things we need to do here, i talked about building dorm for the orphans and also we have no play field for football which is a requirements. We have not built three classrooms. Now this part of this property is still not enough to build all of these building but it can hold the dorm and three classrooms and then i will plead with them to give another property for the football field. They are very clever, they do want to sell the whole part of the property but i know they will give it to me. I am just praying to get money and pay for this part because if somebody else would buy it then he is going to block us completely. The building will be $32000.This is what i must do now and then the dorm. Please pray with us. - Pastor Benard
9/7/2010 - Pastor Benard Visit To The US and Childrens Awards
We are doing well and Pamela sends a lot of greatings to you. All our orphans are doing well and things are not bad dispite of so many needs. Our children from the orphanage are really growing and we are suprised with that. They grow so strong and very knowlegeble. We did what we call the divisional exam combine about 43 school and our school was No 3 and we took also position 3 in the national music festival. We are praying for the building of classrooms in Wachara and high school building too. As you know our trust is in the Lord we shall not stop praying. The good news i have is i am coming to Visit US in october up to november, i think we ned to plan on how i will visit you and the church if possible. I am praying for the ticket and God has provided half and i am still praying the other half. I love you my freinds and i pray for you. Send my love to everyone there.

From Pastor Benard:
Dear Friends
Thanks For Being Part of These Miracles
Dear brothers and sister, we want to appreciate so much what you have done to be part of Friend of Christ Ministry in Kenya. For sure we have seen the hands of God work tremendously in our lives and the lives of all of children in Friends of Christ ministry. It is true that without you people we could have not made any move that long .Thank you for being part of this work God is doing in this part of the world. We love you and we pray for you every day.
As you know we soon will end the academic year. Our school has really improved, Our children can speak better English, have better relationship with teachers and our joy is increasing every day. November is usually the end of our term and we are soon moving to unto a new class which standard six next year. This needs other huge plans for classroom, new teachers, books chairs and many other things. .Soon we are going to sit for the national exams which are our great excitement. We first of all look back and see how God has already stood with us despite of the Crisis we have gone through and we say God you are Ebenezer. Thank you for your faithfulness to serve God. In fact we have been blessed by your gifts, we smile and jump as we see what God has really done, We appreciate so much of you encouragements. Without you we could surely have done nothing. I know very well that God has used you to improve the lifestyle of our orphan children and the widows in our community. Please we want to keep you informed about what God is doing here every now and then. May God bless you and keep you.
We’re excited to announce to you 65 new orphans in the new Friends Of Christ ministry in Wachara village, resulting in a total of 290 orphans, we have in the ministry of Friends of Christ both in Ahero and Wachara.
Praise God that 16 teachers and 4 care takers made commitments to Jesus Christ and have vowed to serve Friend of Christ faithfully.
We now have 290 total registered children and we still ask God to, provide sponsorship to all these orphans so that we can have very easy way of running the school.
Our Joy is that More and more of children are getting to know Jesus as Lord and savior actually not only children but some of our staff members are also converted and have decided to follow Jesus more than 120 orphan children have received Jesus as their personal Savior!
We are still praying for more Bibles to be given to children and families in need.
All our children have not received any health checkups and as you know that children should be treated for health issues. Therefore we pray for God to provide some more funds for check ups. This will make us know their health condition. Though we know insurance is very expensive but checking ones year will be great. And that means we need about $2000 to do that every year.
Development Program
The Leadership Development Program employed 4 more new teachers this year
Our Leadership Development Program appeal was highly successful, We have good plans though it did not work will with us this year again .We worked on a 12 hectares of land this time of the year unfortunately crops failed again. We were really discouraged but we cann’t stop trying.
Malaria Awareness and HIV Test
As you know our ministry needs a lot of keenness due to the HIV and AIDs children. we are trying hard to protect them and encourage them a lot. We do malaria test evry now and then
As you know we live in a Malaria zone, we pray for malaria medication to be in school and In fact we need also more than 1200 lifesaving mosquito nets for our guidance and children which is KSh 650 each.
The Global Food Crisis
As you may know, the rising cost of food is devastating, many families in our programs. And experts are predicting that food prices will not return to previous levels. We have realize this and we need to be careful. we should have in stock Maize which KSh 3300,Rice Ksh 3900 a bag, Suger is at ksh 4500 a bag and some cloths which each child need a dress at Ksh 1000 each and school book will cost us Ksh 189,000.Book for Grad1-6
We are doing everything we can to support Children and families during this difficult time. To help provide immediate food supplies to our orphans families, we have set time for prayer at list 30 minutes every day. We are also working hard to identify long-term solutions to help bridge the widening gap between families living in poverty and affordable food. Despite the current economy, we are still seeing God’s faithful hand of blessing on this ministry and we ask God to give us strength. As you know this a very busy month with lots of programs for Christmas and Thanksgiving holyday coming a head of us . We are praying for God’s provision for Christmas gifts for our orphans and guidance. We hope God will touch people’s heart to provide Gifts and we believe we shall enjoy with our children together. We wish you a merry Christmas and happy new year.
